Sorry, but that interface looks more kitsch than Zen to me. Try OmmWriter for a true Zen-like writing experience (not affiliated with OmmWriter in any way, just love writing in it).
Anyone know when 2.0 is coming out? I really want to buy this, but don't want to buy this now and then have to pay another $40 to $50 to upgrade in a few months time.
@sjk
They haven't publicly announced it as far as I know. I was basing my conjecture on the fact that the version number is up to 1.9.3 and that they recently released 2.0 of OmniPlan. Haven't asked them directly yet, but if I don't get a response here I'll try that.
I found out the answer is that the version listed here is a Universal Binary whereas the app store version is Intel only. They are exactly the same in terms of features.
This used to be awesome, however, in the last couple of updates it has completely stopped working. Now each time I change location I have to manually change the location and the snapshot each time. Now I just need to figure out which version last worked successfully and go back to it.
Just putting it out there to the developer - if you make the licence reminder only come up on the screen periodically people like myself would be more likely to actually try it out. As for me, I got so over the big red reminder in the menubar I quit the app in under 2 minutes and doubt I'll ever give it a decent trial because of this.
I've tried downloading this twice and each time I try to open it I get this message from OSX "You can't open the application FocusWrite because it is not supported on this type of Mac".
I can't get this to work. Whenever I try to open a protected App a dialog box appears, I type my password, press OK and nothing happens. The dialog box doesn't go away and the App doesn't open. I have tried this with a number of applications. I get the following error message in Console.app
"27/11/10 5:00:36 PM com.apple.launchd[1] (com.macinapps.appdefender[179]) Job appears to have crashed: Trace/BPT trap
27/11/10 5:00:44 PM com.macinapps.appdefender[226] 2010-11-27 17:00:44.675 mwagent[229:907] *** -[NSCFString substringToIndex:]: Range or index out of bounds"
I don't know why someone has given me a negative rep just because a program was hanging and not working properly, but I seem to have worked it out. To fix the problem I needed to go into the common settings and set a password there - the password I was setting at startup didn't seem to be sticking. I emailed my original post here to the developer and got a response within minutes. I replied to that email shortly afterwards with some more details and got another response within minutes so kudos to the developer for that.
