1Password 3.8.9 no longer supports OmniWeb, at least not on my OS 3.6.8. The link on MU above to Supported Browsers leads only to an error page. First Camino left out in the rain, now OmniWeb? Yes, I have started a thread about this on Agile Forums.
Firefox 8 now is rated 1 1/2 stars because of the ravings about update speed from a handful of half wits who post here? Rating by stars is supposed to be done by those who've used and tested the version, not by morons whining about the update speed. And it's the same posters, most of whom have themselves been downrated by their peers, who do this for every version. If they don't like Firefox, why not reserve their ratings for the browsers they do like? The rating system here is hopelessly corrupted and MU should discontinue it and leave star ratings to porn sites.
Well, sneer all you want, but this version is stable, all my extensions work, CPU usage seems to be down and it loads a bit faster. Looks like I can finally leave 3.6 behind. It's not my favorite browser, but all things considered, unless you think speed is everything, it's the best available.
Faster to load and render than Chrome/Chromium, no extensions to drag it down, quick password access using Keychain (remember that?), many icons and other tweaks available, small dedicated crew of developers working because they love it, native Mac look - what's not to like? The perfect alternative to those Firefox/Safari/1Password blues.
I'm running 6.02 0n Snow Leopard and 1P will not update to v.3.8.3; not internally on Firefox or externally when I download 3.8.3 for FF 6+ from Agile's site. Is it because 3.8.3 works only on Lion, or...?
Lots of crashes after installing this using System Preferences Update. Most are attributable to the FlashPlayer plug in. And I couldn't open the Extensions section of Safari Preferences without causing a crash. I've removed the FlashPlayer plug in, which seems to have stopped the crashing, but most sites keep telling me they need it. Many reports went to Apple; let's hope they're on the ball.
Thanks for your valuable input. I did have the latest 10.1 installed before the crash, but removing it, installing another one, and restarting seems to have fixed my problem.
1Password claims my long time in use password for itself is incorrect and is rejecting any upgrade or substitution of the new version for the old. Why is that?
