Using this software helped me lose 30 pounds. The database needs some data cleansing effort (search results are erratic), but otherwise a great tool to help you lose weight.
It's a shame that one unhappy person can dominate the discussion like this. MailForge is good and getting better. It's the closest thing to the old Eudora that so many people loved and still use.
Even large development houses struggle to put out perfect software, and when you're a small development company things take time, especially to make sure all the major bugs are worked out and the different parts of the software are fully integrated.
Early versions of this product were good. Unfortunately the developer(s) decided to make it bloatware by incorporating a lot of things that aren't needed in a menu bar clock, such as stock prices.
In the process of upgrading, they dropped some really basic things, like being able to add many cities to the clock list. I haven't been able to add Dubai or Abu Dhabi since the redesign.
This app is great for developing web-based quizzes. I've used it to enhance my on-line courses with mini-quizzes that the students take. The results are immediately e-mailed back to me.
The recent update is a significant step backwards in the ability to print envelopes. They're changed completely the envelope format, so all of the templates we've customized no longer work and have to be re-created. Worse, the new envelope names have no relation to the envelope size, so you have to guess which template is closest to the one you want and customize it. The format change prevents importing of previous templates.
Worse yet, it no longer allows center-feeding. We ended up wasting a dozen envelopes before we figured out how to, marginally, print it through a laser printer that requires center-feeding.
I wouldn't upgrade to this version. The downsides are worse than any marginal improvement in functionality.
I tried it and can't get it to work. It tells me there are "path errors" in finding the file, even when the sound file and the app are in the same folder.
Maybe the paid version works, but the author only accepts PayPal which I won't use because of all the horror stories about hacked accounts.
It sounds like Jamie Genet has some severe system problems that have nothing to do with Konfabulator. I've been using multiple widgets almost since Konfabulator came out and have never experienced any of these problems. Currently on 10.4.3 and still works fine.
For me Konfabulator is a better solution than Apple's knock-off, Dashboard. With the wide variety of widgets available I can select the ones that are most useful to me and keep them on the desktop.
It'll be interesting to see what the changes are in the current version.
They've solved the earlier problems with UTD printing, but with the current version of Contact I'm unable to print envelopes on my USB HP printer. I also consistently get Contact to crash from the print dialogue. This is probably the best combination of contact and calendar management for the Mac, but (despite a 10.4 version being released well after 10.4 was available for developers, it was released too early and with too many bugs. For anyone wanting to upgrade I'd wait for a couple of incrementatl releases.
Despite the comments of some anonomous reviewers, Moodle is quite flexible and powerful. I know of at least one state university that is using it as their on-line platform in preference to Blackboard just based on its capabilities. I've examined it enough that I'm moving our existing on-line training courses to it.
