Apple iDVD

I have been trying to create a slideshow in iDVD. Unfortunately this is not easy and I have a couple of pretty annoying problems:

1) Unable to import a slideshow from
iPhoto to iDVD

2) Once I try burning and iDVD ( a process
that takes two hours), the photos dont
have a good resolution during playback
on DVD players, they take time to
flicker before becoming optimum
quality.

I would really appreciate any suggestions anyone has.
