Question 1: can you run Firefox 4 beta10 alongside Firefox 3?
Question 2: I have an Intel Mac Pro with both OS 10.5 and 10.6 installed on separate HDs. I still end up spending more time booted in 10.5. Since FF4 is supposed to be optimozed for Intel on 10.6, how much slower will it be in 10.5 (compared to FF3)?
Thanks for the quick reply. I asked my Question 2 after reading this from Josh Aas (who states on his blog that he works for Mozilla):
"First, we’ve switched from a ppc/i386 universal binary to an i386/x86_64 universal binary. The default architecture on Mac OS X 10.6 will be x86_64. The default architecture on Mac OS X 10.5 will be i386. You will be able to run in i386 mode on Mac OS X 10.6 if you choose to do so but you will not be able to run in x86_64 mode on Mac OS X 10.5. Performance is the primary motivation for the move to x86_64."
The new interface is difficult to read. White and gray on black, and in a small window? It's so...1980s.
I use multiple computers and screens from a variety of manufacturers. It doesn't look good on any of them. The previous interface was much better.
Hopefully this is just an intermediate "test" version and the final 3.0 will be similar to the previous 2.4 version.
But, either way, Dashalytics is free and the developer worked hard to update it after Google changed their own interface, so I still have to give this 4 stars.
[Version 3.0]
