Is this supposed to be MicroSoft's update to make its apps work on Lion? Not being sarcastic - just want to know. MSWord seems to work a bit less buggy, however, it still will not save to NAS devices, as it did under 10.6. But . . . sometimes it will now (very unpredictable). Artifacts still appear within document margins and selected words and phrases often deselect themselves. Does anyone (or even MS) know if this is the official fix or is it just a bone MS tossed out to divert attention away from its broken suite of business apps for the Mac?
Still won't find HP AIO scanners on a network. File / Create / PDF from Scanner / Please select a device . . . no workee. Would be nice to eliminate a step or two like in 10.6.x. Apple, Adobe and HP get your act together please (again). Regarding this particular update process, yeah it was a little scary - sat there for a good 10 min. before the 'install completed' dialog appeared.
Sorry to say this version (as of 8.31.11) took over my MacPro running 10.7.1 and was patently incompatible with most everything. There is no phone # for the author and emails sent from his website have so far gone un-answered. It took the better part of an afternoon to even partially recover (had to re-install the OS), and even then, it remains lurking in the system pref panel. Yes, there is an un-installer, but it does not work (other than giving an error message stating that it cannot uninstall the current version, which it refers to as version 'null'. Please, Mr. software engineer, publish a stand-alone un-installer that will strip all the files and code from this system. The un-installer is not where it's supposed to be, and the one that was located did not work (see above).
The author published what was supposed to allow an un-install on 9.3.11. The un-install option no longer crashes, but it DOES NOT WORK. In fact, it re-installed the bits and pieces I was able to get rid of and at least run a crippled version of OS X. The 2.5.8.1 app itself crashes now. Can't get to system prefs to run the global un-installer (if it's even present) - system prefs and just about every standard system app now crashes. Looks like a day of unproductive reconstructions ahead. 1) Mr. Software author, please have pity upon those your app, which in every respect acts like a virus, has infected. Provide manual instructions PLEASE for un-install.
EMC released the 8.x version of Retrospect for sale in early 2009, touting it as an enterprise level backup solution. For over a year it wallowed through version after version. For my part, it was totally useless - too many random problems. To their credit, except for one annoying exception, EMC's forum nannies addressed the problems - not necessarily fixed them, but at least acknowledged the dismal state of the application and suggested fix after fix - it was truly an extended beta test in the guise of a released product. Coincident with the release now of 8.2, which is still called a beta, EMC sold Retrospect to Roxio. Apparently support and engineering staff are included. Let's see if there's an improvement.
This update actually worked for me. From Acrobat Pro 9.3.0 to 9.3.1 on a nehalem MacPro running 10.6.2. Maybe I lucked out? Maybe Adobe got it right this time? Go figure (again).
The announcement of an 'update' entices hordes of people to take advantage of it. Again, wait before you jump in. The outcome is a repeat of the update to 9.2 in mid-2009. Check Adobe's forums. It's the same old problem. The update is successful for some and doesn't do squat for others. If you'll look at the Adobe forums, you'll see that weeks go by w/o a comment form Adobe staff, then a newbee tier 1 house elf begins to address the issue anew with the same old rote suggestions that didn't work before. Does Adobe care - doesn't seem to. In my case, when I try to update from 9.2 (yes, I was one of those who finally got the update to work after literally weeks of hit and miss tries), I get the same message I got from my initial attempts to go from 9.1 to 9.2 - the update failed because some kind of modification was detected (not). I am then referred to what is called the 'Adobe support website' for more information (non-existent) or I am invited to completely un-install and re-install the app. I actually tried that again, retrograding back to 9.0.0, which resulted in the same error message when the new update was attempted. Thanks Adobe.

Same here - error message about having modified the Acrobat Pro 9.1.x file and messing around with plug-ins. NOT. Sounds like a bad update app. I downloaded a similar update directly from Adobe's site - same results. Did a lot of un-installing / re-installing with the same results. Come on Adobe.
Upon launch it states that an installation of version 7 is required. Then it quits. Version 7 is there. I agree - testing prior to deployment and support for this app on a Mac is sadly lacking. Apparently lost in translation. Can't rate it if it doesn't launch. OS 10.5.8 / Intel MacPro. I always have to revert to version 6.x, which is barely usable.
true to their word, Logitech fixed their 7.5.0 release of Harmony software, apparently w/o changing the version number of the app; the single button press = multiple transmission of commands problem has been fixed in a release that appeared sometime on Monday 8/11/08. They admit their goof - good for them. There was no overt announcement, though, to log in and update - just a notice on the app if you took the initiative. I updated the firmware again as well, but there is no indication that this was necessary
Logitech confirmed via call to customer support that 7.5 is flawed - used on a Harmony 1000 with DirecTV it sends two pulses for each button push. I was informed Sat 8/9/08 that 'engineers' were working on it and reverting to a previous version would not help - probably because of the firmware update that accompanies the application
[Version 7.5]
