As far as I'm concerned Bean HAS plain text support. I use it a lot too when I need to gather info over different websites. Just save a .TXT document and then open it as a template later on. The only thing I would beg to devs is to implement tabs. It would be fantastic to have Bean with tabs.
Fast, reliable. In fact 10 times faster than Cyberduck. And less buggy. The only point here is that Filezille has the worst interface ever. No customizable, horrible icons. Is this the ugliest interface ever or what? Sorry to complain, but we Mac users are used to work with elegant designs and great interface. They should at last make some themes available to change that... Shouldn't they?
I've been using Onyx since 3 or 4 years now. Great app, I run it in a regular basis to keep my Mac smoothly on hard working. I used to pay for Cocktail - which is also a great app! - but what's the point to pay for something if you have the same for free? Onyx is amazing and I just can't live without it anymore. More the once it helped me to AVOID a problem before it was effectively an issue in my Mac.
I work a lot with texts and I used to have a special plugin for word counting in SimpleText. As I really need word counting, Bean became the best definitive replace for SimpleText ebcause is faster and more complete. As simple as that. Can't live without Bean anymore.
Crashing for no reason. I don't get it. I don't use a PC but maybe (just MAYBE) the Windows version runs better. Anyway for Mac users there's no reason for not trying Adium. It's free, reliable, elegant and highly customizable. Adium is muuuuuch better indeed!
I've been using lots of free FTP clients for Mac such as Cyberduck, Fugu, ClassicFTP, Rbrowser Lite etc. FileZilla is the fastest, the most reliable and the one with the best features. But the best thing is that this is really really the fastest one. On the other hand this is by far one of the ugliest and the most confusing interfaces ever. It's like a girl with J-Low body and a Jay Leno face... Please hire a Mac designer...
What the hell is going on with Onyx? I've been using this app since ages to keep my Mac healthy. Years and years. Since I've moved to Leopard 4 weeks ago I also moved to the new Onyx and the problems have started. My Mac crashes when running some Onyx scripts - yes, I know it freezes with some scripts, bit I'm talking about CRASHING. And some apps become unstable after running Onyx. For ex.: InDesign. It seems that releasing a new version each 48 hours is not a coincidence... Something got wrong... Right?
