Does what it does without any hassle. It's very convenient, and very unobtrusive. I've tried other programs, but I keep coming back to this program. It just does it best.

Transmission is good because it doesn't try to be some other app "with bittorrent support." I can have 5 linux distro/rescue CDs going and it doesn't flinch.

The only media player you'll ever need. It's head and shoulders above the rest (even the paid ones). Cross-platform awesomeness. :)

Nice, fast browser. I can safely say that I don't really bother over the data mining... heck, they mine your data when you buy a loaf of bread with one of those rewards program cards.

I hope that 1Password support is forthcoming (keeps my default browser @ Firefox 4 Beta... now up to 12).

Great for those who love emacs but need some Aqua integration (more than say Fink could give you)...

You either love it or hate it, but emacs is a powerful editor/environment.

I used the linux equivalent of this program for years. It's well worth it to give it a try... you'll be surprised how intuitive it is, in spite of what most would call it's "un-mac-like" interface.

Things would be fine if you didn't have to register to get stupid upgrades. I royally hate companies that require registrations for updates. Roxio used to do that, and for that, I stopped using them.

I use Virtualbox now anyway. If you don't care about Windows (and I don't), Virtualbox runs Linux like a dream on my 4GB Mini.
