My Living Desktop
Farque commented on 05 Jun 2010
Thank goodness I bought this on special through Macupdate and I didn't pay the full price.....

I got sick of it really quickly, Whilst initially it was "wow this is cool" then after a while seeing the same seagull swooping around doing the same thing all day on my desktop was driving me mad. So I searched for other scenes and again, after initially going "yeh that's a cool one" got annoyed with it after a while.

Then there is the inability of the screen saver to know that if you set your screen to turn off/lock after a period of time it will silent the audio. What happens is the screen will go black/turn off as per your settings but you hear the birdies singing/water flowing ALL night (you can turn the sound off which is what I did but what a pain)

You can import your own video in which is nice, but again, seeing the same scene over and over again or multiple scenes that change every hour can be quite distracting, yes you can turn it off on a schedule to give you some "breaks" from the screen saver which is the great..(perfect for me)

Maybe its a zen thing or something, it's my (and it's only my personal opinion) that there's nothing better than seeing a nice picture of your kids or family on your desktop.

My advice to all of you is to download the trial, use it for as long as the trial will allow and if it really brings you inner peace, buy it!

Easy Translator
Farque tipped on 11 May 2010
I bought Easy Translator 3.3 for Mac OS X just before Snow Leopard was released for about USD$40

The program worked fine (although don't stake your reputation on it if you are translating English-German...it is not totally accurate pronunciation)

When I upgraded to Snow Leopard and launched Easy translator 3.3 it didn't translate properly. There was a lot of garbled text amongst the translation.

I contacted the developer and he wanted me to spend another USD$38 to upgrade to the compatible version for Snow Leopard.
Most decent software developers give lifetime support for their products especially when they are not cheap.

The developer is basically greedy, he see's a change to the Mac operating system as a opportunity to make more money. Be very wary that when OSX 10.7 comes out this product will become useless.

It was really disappointing dealing with this guy, he is a A$$

Radio Gaga
farque tipped on 14 Jul 2009
I purchased Radio Gaga yesterday.

BIG PROBLEM,

I added my radio station but it didn't play,

Found out that Radio Gaga doesn't support the stream of my radio station, here is the reply from Gaga tech support......

"The format of this station's stream (Windows Media) is not currently supported by Radio Gaga. Radio Gaga currently only supports MP3 streams. AAC stations are not currently supported by Radio Gaga as well"

All I normally do is type in the radio station as a URL and it starts straight away.... nothing fancy.

Asking for a refund, from the website there are no indications of compatibility issues, would be handy to have a list of the radio stations as well.

0/10 for me
