Monocle
fahlman commented on 26 Jul 2008
According to the developer's website Monocle 1.5.1 was released 01/28/2007 which conflicts with the date noted here.

I missed this little gem when I was using the beta of Safari 3.1. I'm so glad it's back again!

CardRaider
fahlman commented on 18 Feb 2008
I was importing a couple hundred photographs in to iPhoto from my Canon SD750 when iPhoto locked up while Deleting the Originals (I'll never do that again!). I instanlty came to MacUpdate to find a utility to recover my photographs from my 4GB SDHC card. I downloaded a couple. CameraSalvage is twice the price and not as easy to use. Exif Untrasher is free but is not easy to use and it locked up during the recovery. CardRaider is easy to use, effective and affordable.

Aqua Mines

The link to the download is dead. Too bad. This looks like the best minesweeper clone for the Mac.

2.3 used to crash upon start using 10.4.9. 2.3a has fixed that crash.

ArchDetect
fahlman commented on 24 May 2007
This program does exactly what it claims to do, show the architecture of an application. Did you expect it to surprise you with something extra?

Also, just because the program works on your Intel-based Mac doesn't mean it's architecture is Intel native. It may be PCC code that is being translated to Intel-compatible code using Rosetta.

I have a mortgage, car payment, car insurance, health insurance, life insurance, home insurance, etc and I'll second the first post. Prioritize your finances. Get rid of cable television, broadband internet, dinner out every other night, lunch at the nearest fast food joint every weekday, live in a reasonable house (which also has the side of lowering not only your mortgage but also the home insurance premium), drive a reasonable car (again not only does this reduce your loan payment, but reduces your car insurance also). People live way outside their means and then complain that they're poor. It's only their own fault.

Reunion

Great concept. Ugly, really, really ugly GUI. So ugly I can't use use even though it's full of features and is simple to use.

Chicken of the VNC
fahlman commented on 03 Mar 2007
It's been over a year since this beta version of 2.0 was released. This is my favorite VNC viewer. I wonder if development is dead, it appears to be. Bummer.
[Version 2.0b4]
