Ext2 Filesystem
Exponent commented on 18 Jul 2007
BEWARE THIS RELEASE!

I have (HAD! >:-< ) a triple-boot (Mac, Windows, Linux) setup on an Intel Core Duo Mac Mini.

I previously tried Ext2 Filesystem back at 1.4d1, and it merely didnt' work.

Now I downloaded 1.4d4, and when I tried to mount the ext3 it fried my Linux filesystem! And since the FAT32 patition comes after that, it takes forever to see the Windows partition.

I'll have to boot from a Linux boot CD to see if I can repair it, or barring that, hopefully just erase that partition.

Another user who posted over on VersionTracker.com reports that it fried his entire hard drive. Sometimes I discount negative software reports on these sites, but not on this one.

(Really, Apple should take a break from putting in more flashy eye-candy into Mac OS and focus on the meat & potatoes things like fully mounting ext3 volumes....)
[Version 1.4d4]
