x264Encoder
Evidence commented on 09 Mar 2007
I really like this codec. In the case that this is based on H.264, I have never messed with H.264 much, I use mainly MPEG-4 for Quicktime Pro exporting. But this codec far outdoes MP4. Check out these two exports I did:

MPEG-4 (2.3MB): http://homepage.mac.com/expandingman/.Movies/collison2.mov

x264 (1.4MB): http://homepage.mac.com/expandingman/.Movies/collison1.mov

The x264 quality is at least as good, and I would say better. And it is almost half the file size.

I have only used this codec for about 15 minutes so I can't really comment on bugs or anything. But I like it a lot so far.

ISOlator

This is a wonderfully effective, simple to use program. Just open the program and drag the disc icon onto the window, and it creates a perfect copy in ISO format. The only thing I would ask for in a future version would be a progress bar so the user knows how much longer the task will take. Nonetheless, this is an invaluable tool that will forever be in my applications folder.

YOU CAN USE THE KEYBOARD you just have to configure your .ini files for it.

A great app, fun to play, and free! Good graphics, runs great on my 450 dual G4 with Radeon 9000 Pro. It never locks up, but a couple cars do cause the program to quit. Fun, runs good, and free, I think this is a keeper.

A great game. The innovative hand-to-hand combat is key to the gameplay. The guns are nice, too. A good plot, also. And I'm not even an anime fan. Great graphics also. If the detail level is set high (as it is on my Power Mac G4), draw distance is practically infinite. I noticed this most in the airport where I could see guys walking around an airplane at more than 200 yards. After playing, there's only one question: WHERE'S THE $%!#@!& MULITPLAYER? If the developers don't release some kind of mission pack with multiplayter features, there'll be hell to pay :). Also, I gave a 4 in features because of the awkward controls and lack of a controls editing feature. You have to edit the .txt document with SimpleText to change the controls. But a solid game and instant Mac classic!

Rainbow Six: Rogue Spear

A great game. Especially multiplayer, goes good with GameRanger. There are lots of multiplayer scenarios, including co-op and teams, and even teams w/terrorist. It quits unexpectedly once in while, but it works again right after. Great graphics. Lots of guns. Sound is decent. And you don't have to make your own plans if you don't want, there are built-in ones, which is a plus.
