This is a great player when it works, but Revision 14 has had playback sync problems on all my computers. I reverted to Rev 12, but it kernel panics on my new 27" I7. I'm going to have to find another player, sadly.

As it stands, this app records compressed video using the YUV422 codec.

A shame that development stopped on this app: developer promises a fully-functional version in 'weeks' but it never came. There's a very tempting range of recording options made available in this version, (including uncompressed video) but none of the options work.

It appears that the developer has knocked out LEOPARD compatibility in the effort to provide Snow Leopard compatibility. Not good news at all.

Did you really intend to do this????

IMPORTANT ADDENDUM:

Fails to turn of backlighting on my 2007 24" iMac and its 2nd display.

Too bad!!! I really had hopes for this.

Works flawlessly on my MbPro and I expect to see the same on my 24" iMac.

As others have said here, turning off backlighting is a great move.

This software comes with no documentation and there's none at the website, so it's easy to see how people here could be complaining that smcFanControl isn't "Launching".

Once installed it appears at the bottom of the System Prefs pane.

Simple as the interface is, documentation always helps.

AFAIK I have a 'lifetime' subscription to this software and DO NOT and will not use Leopard: it offers me nothing over Tiger.

Developer: will the release version support the immense base of Tiger users???
