Free Funny Puzzle
Edified commented on 09 Sep 2011
This is a demo. It's not free. 12.95USD/puzzle or $25 for the lot of three.

Well to be fair it's an unlimited use trial that lets you upgrade with other puzzles.

Unfortunately it's fairly unintuitive and it's click the piece click the space interface sheds most of what makes puzzle solving interesting.

Enough said.

Skype

Skype is not a good citizen. It resets to Auto-Start at login after each trip to the Skype login screen.

Defaulting to auto-start at login is evil.

Buyer beware, you will end up paying for bug fixes.

I think the back, play and next buttons on newer keyboards kind of make this antiquated. If you have an old computer it might work for you, but be sure to check out the great free alternatives.

Listing problems: Missing icon, wrong screenshot, not free ($20).

But it's a great Pinball Game, worth every penny!

Great game! You can buy it DRM free other places. I suggest that.

Surface
Edified commented on 25 Aug 2010
The concept is good. I like relations but the documentation and implementation seem to be not-quite-mature. Project stacks would be nice. There needs to be some visible indicator if notes are attached or relations exist while items are not selected. I would love to be able to know where my work is at at-a-glace with notes rather than having to sift through files. The surface needs full keyboard access that is smart and natural- think spotlightish. Needs animation (toggleable). As soon as a note is created the focus should move to the textfield of the note. I can't get the bring-surface-to-front key command to work. The same command should hide it. Line color, especially opacity should but changeable. The close circle should be hideable. There should be an option to hide surface when it doesn't have focus (to be invoked again by key command). There should be an option for a stack or recent files.

Dreams dreams. Lots of work to do, but here's to a first release.

Also, I think hovering should be sufficient to bring up notes and relations and the edit tools (which really could be smaller). That would expedite everything and rid me of having to use silly contextual menus.

Maybe shift drag to draw a simple relation. Press "n" to make a new note on a focused or hovered item.

MP4 has limited track options for multiple audio and subtitle streams. MKV does it right ;)

Enigma

Yup, it's THE Oxyd. You'll find it's a rather nice Mac port as well. Self contained DMG, fullscreen. The only thing lacking is the original sounds and widescreen support.

If you've never played, this is a great challenge from many angles!
