Apple OS X Lion

Edgarcabrera reviewed on 02 Feb 2012
I did the update via Software update, and worked fine. Still, I downloaded the combo update and installed and it runs better!!!... Snapier and more responsive on my side, I recommend the Combo Update instead using the Software Update

Browser

I've tried this browser using Lion 10.7,2,in my MBA 2011, but at the moment to use the bookmarks, it's frozen my MBA. It only happens when trying to access the bookmarks, mind you, when there are not bookmarks

Where can I send the report?... when accessing bookmarks it freezes for about 1 minute and then it works, but when I access the bookmarks again, it does it again.

Apple Safari

On my side, this version is more stable, I used to have some random crashes but it seems more stable. As for the memory usage, it seems a lil bit reduced, nonetheless I'm using Lion 10.7.2 and the memory management is terrible anyway.
I haven't experience other reported problems.

Raskin

Edgarcabrera reviewed on 24 Nov 2011
I'm evaluating it and it's quite a pleasure to use under Lion in my MBA 2011. It's quite good for managing folder for a projects, it feels quite intuitive and lean. I'll give 5 stars if it has got the ability to automatically add a new drive or network drive as they are connected to the computer as a place. I can do it using the service of "reveal the selected item in Raskin", but if that can be done, that would be brilliant!!!

Ecoute

I agree with the other comments, bring back 2.xx GUI, the lyrics feature in the GUI was brilliant, as well as the youtube match. I loved the url posting to Twitter and FB... currently you can post on those sites but only a mark, not an actual URL with the song as in version 2.xxx.

My recommendation is that developer keep the same features and GUI as in version 2.xxx and add a lyrics search feature. That would make this an outstanding application, now it's becoming just like another one out there...

SixtyFour

It's a very good little application, quite helpful to run those applications everyday use in 32bits mode in Lion, i.e. Safari, Mail, Webprocess, etc. to reduce memory usage. For more demanding applications, 64 bits is good.

But I'd like to recommend to the developer to have another payment gateway apart from Paypal, I've tried to pay for this but I can't via Paypal, perhaps google checkout?...

I'm using debit card, but it cannot be used it if issued from Mex, only CC but I don't have CC... I've got no issues with google checkout and App Store, but Paypal seems more restrictive...

This is a great addition for my MBA 13", very good idea. Better than other menu applications. As a reviewer pointed before, it would be nice to to have the dock icon deactivated.

Clock is handy... btw, I'm using Lion 7.0.2 and it runs with no issues, I've deactivated all effects and it's working smoothly.

Apple OS X Lion

Edgarcabrera reviewed on 13 Oct 2011
No problems in the 13" MBA 2011, everything run smoothly and it seems a bit snappier. As for the people who don't like Lion, fair enough. I've been using Apple since Apple II, going through all Apple OS's, this seems like that bitter discussion from OS 9 to OS X, at the end if you fancy to jump on the new OS good, if not, good, too. As for the new hardware that only ships with Lion, you can erase and do a downgrade installing SL. I've got friends that due to the different plungins and programs, they haven't upgrade to Lion and they are happy. As I said, any major change brings some discussion, so far Lion is working for my needs.

Apple Safari

Well, this version running on Lion is superb, the best one, the way it is integrated to the new gestures... as I only use the ad block extension, it's quite useful. When you've got a 6Mb broadband connection, the "speed" difference is minimal (as many claim for Chrome), the smoothness and integration with the new gestures in Lion are more important for me and the behaviour in full screen is great.
