Apple Mail Updater

One of the most unstable parts of Mac OS X. Mail has historically had multiple problems with indexes, losing mail, corruption on disk, corruption of preferences and general lack of features when compared to MS Outlook and other modern email software. Current version commonly consumes all of the systems CPU when changing network connections (aka MacBook changing from Airport to Ethernet, from VPN to non-VPN etc.)

Apple seems incapable of stabilizing this application.

Spaces seems to significantly degrade system performance and increase battery consumption. Disabling spaces increased my system performance (unibody 15") to almost 10.5.8 speeds again and I regained 45 minutes on my battery life.
