I received VirusBarrier in a bundled offer made by MacUpdate. I installed it in spite of my lack of belief of the need of virus protection for Macs. To my chagrin, after a year of running the software - which has an annoying and interruptive method of notifying new updates - I was informed that I would have to pay a subscription fee for the next year of updates.
Furthermore today, I was informed that I would have to pay for the upgrade. Since I got it free and didn't need it anyway, I just deleted the application permanently with AppZapper.
No thanks and good-bye to VirusBarrier, it is unnecessary for Mac Users!
Strangely enough, I have never utilized this app. I came with the software downloaded when I first purchased my Canon camera and it still sits in the Canon folder. My question is this, I received a plethora of files with the download and I'm wondering what I have to place in the folder or for that matter if I even need it?
In Feb of '06 someone asked a similar question and the response someone named 'Flying Meat' seemed to be - just the application. Is that still the case?
Not to worry "Not A Fool", I had the same dilemma but when I opened FrontRow. However, when I opened FrontRow S.W. version indicated 2.1.7 even though the version in my Applications folder only shows version 1.0 using 'get info'. It updates properly but makes no other indication that it IS updated. Apple works in mysterious ways. Just use it and go with the flow.
[Version 2.1.7]
