Ok so I'm a windows admin during the day and family IT during the night.
And While being a windows admin my work machine is a 17" mbp.
I have used most of the remote control software out there at one stage or another.
Teamviewer was mentioned and I gave it a try. The first use I had for it was a real issue for me.
A user without admin rights had a currupt driver issue for both his ethernet card and his wifi. He was over 100 miles away it was 10:30pm and the only way I could get to his machine was via a bluetooth connection on his mobile phone (and gprs).
Teamviewer not only gave me fast remote control but continued to do so while i did a 50Mb download of ethernet drivers (thanks broadcom!)
I paid for the Business license the next day.
I have now been using over a year and have since upgraded to the Premium license and completely stopped using dameware via vmware.
Oh and there is a flash based control option so you don't even need to install anything to control a windows or osx machine.
Ok so i fix computers for a living.
Djaying is not a hobby and i don't plan on doing it very often,
However, I was asked by a family friend to djay a 16th birthday party.
after the initial panic had worn off, i looked into ways of looking like i knew what i was doing.
After many demos windoze and osx software i came across DJay.
After 5 minutes i felt comfortable i could sound good and look professional. I'm writing this while doing my set (get me!)
Its alot of money for a couple of uses but what a difference over a basic itunes play list playing out.
if your a casual djay then this is a must. I am sure i am not using 10% of what it's capable of but i seem to be a success here.
oh and the support rocks!
