Pardon my ignorance but after reading these glowing comments, visiting the website and even watching the video I still can't figure out what practical use Fiwi is. Why do you need it? What does it do?? What's the need for two Finder windows in the first place? Thank you.
What exactly does the "on-line" in "on-line defragmentation" mean? Does it make your hard drive viewable or accessible to Coriolis in any way? If not, then what does it mean?
I'm sure this is not FStream's fault but would appreciate any advice: I can't get FStream out of "Status: Disconnected" mode. What needs to be activated or checked?
Can you use GnuPGP to encrypt something you write in TextEdit, copy/paste the encrypted text into a Yahoo email and the recipient decrypt it on his end (as with P.Z's PGP)? If you can I haven't been able to figure out how.
Tried converting a small .wma to mp3:
"Unable to encode files in the selected format"
.mov to mp3?
"Unable to encode files in the selected format"
.aiff to .mp3?
"Unable to encode files in the selected format"
What a piece of crap!!
From the website: "The free version...includes most common audio file formats."
No mention that the app has to call out from your computer to work. Any modern developer should be aware of Little Snitch. Why doesn't dev mention the app is calling out every time you use it...?
I'm using Safari Version 3.0.4 (523.12.2).
I had no trouble with the other two downloads, maybe because they end in ".zip"? I've never seen a file end with 'intel' before. Thanks for answering about progress.app, but if it's bundled in why does it ask where it is?
Neonblue2, since my last post I figured out a way to dl the needed file, but by now I forget how lol.
Also the progress app was indeed inside but for some reason was not being recognized. With the successful download accomplished I'm happy to say all is well. Although... I wish ffmpeg or some other program would let a Mac Intel user reencode the old Indeo3,4,5 codecs.

Permanent Eraser
"Once your data has been erased, it can no longer be read through traditional means."
But can it be read through *any* means? That is the question.

Forget it, don't even bother. It won't even do step 1, recognize a wma file.

So is that why Switch doesn't do the simplest tasks, because Little Snitch disallows the connection?? Into the trash it went.
