I have been using GS for long time, But I feel it became ridiculously easy to uncover the folders + change permissions. The level of safety is definitely not suiting me anymore.
Look no further!
Try it in demo, and I guarantee that way before the demo expires you will purchase a license!
I have been using since V1.x, I can only be impressed by the stability and features, all neatly packed under the hood, in a very pleasing GUI
I agree with Yuuko, the app need a bit of a renaissance. The random crashes have never been fixed. GUI is outdated. It starts to look like a "legacy" "obsolete" software. On the other hand amongst very few options out there Unison is still the best out there for me.
I was frustrated in the beginning with Dejumble bugs, now I am just irritated. β25 (twenty five) just tell you how wrong they got it.
1)Sync does not work!
2)Company is looking for new funding
3)Version 2 out soon .... really?
4)Details of version 2 are kept secret as not to compromise the product. Come on guys, people are moving to other solutions. Throw a bone here and let us know What & When to expect things to miraculously happen.
I have a feeling the developer is taking the end users for imbeciles. Since β1 there was a problem with excessive disk activity and CPU hogging. This is not fixed! this is a major bug!
Filemaker PR in full action ....
Below is the reply I've got from the support concerning upgrade policy.
I am quite unhappy, but I imagine the people who bought early September are fuming
" Thank you for contacting Customer Service. There is one low price (£29) for all users of Bento, rather than different prices for new and upgrade. Also, there is one price for Family Packs (£59).
When determining pricing for Bento we first considered a traditional approach with a higher initial price and a lower upgrade price. But since Bento is similar to other single-price Mac products such as iWork and iLife, we decided on a simple arrangement with one low price for everyone.
If you purchased Bento 1 or Bento 1 Family Pack between 14 September 2008 and 28 October 2008 you may qualify for a free copy of Bento 2. For details, please visit the FileMaker promotions page at: http://www.filemaker.co.uk/purchase/store/promos.html .
