Mac DVDRipper Pro

Darklord reviewed on 02 Jan 2011
Hands down the BEST DVD ripping application on any platform (Mac, Windows, or Linux). Version 2 provides a more Mac like user interface (which I am thankful for), the ability to copy the just the main movie, and it doesn't seem to spin the DVD as fast the previous version. Yet it still copies the DVDs in about 20 minutes.

Plus, the best feature of all is the price, it's affordable.

Timer Utility

The best a alarm clock application on the planet! This application is nothing shy of incredible, you get an alarm clock, stop watch, and count down timer, all in one! I use this application everyday for my exercises, and I don't see how I could do my exercises without this application.

I cannot say one bad thing about this application!

RipIt

Darklord reviewed on 20 Jan 2010
This app is okay, but not great. The interface is about the only thing this app has going for it. $20 for a DVD ripping program is a little on the expensive side. Mac DVDRipper Pro is by far a better app and value. Mac DVDRipper Pro is half the price of Ripit, and is a lot faster too. Plus Mac DVDRipper Pro let's you save your rips as disc image which bypasses the new security features that a lot of the DVD manufacturers are adding nowadays. Such as DVDs showing with extremely large disc sizes, like 31GB for the new Star Trek DVD (which is impossible for a DVD to hold that much data).

I really don't know why Macworld gave their Eddy Award to Ripit over Mac DVDRipper Pro.

It's nice to see that Ripit now fixes this issue; however I still prefer the performance and price that Mac DVDRipper Pro offers compared to Ripit.

Mac DVDRipper Pro

This app is nothing short of amazing, and at an outstanding value too. $10 for this high quality of app is deal not to pass up. True MDRP might not have as nice of interface as Ripit, but MDRP is faster, and more affordable. MDRP let's you save your rips as disc image which bypasses the new security features that a lot of the DVD manufacturers are adding nowadays. Such as DVDs showing with extremely large disc sizes, like 31GB for the new Star Trek DVD (which is impossible for a DVD to hold that much data).

I really don't know why Macworld gave their Eddy Award to Ripit over MDRP.
