I've used the old version for years. Got a new Mac had to BUY the new version. Dug around until I found the invalid characters section where you could highlight invalid characters. Miss the ability to have the software fix these characters for you. Regex is also missed. Could've solved the whole thing in one line.

The builder concept is a neat idea, but if you have to have 8 renamer boxes to strip out most of the bad Unix and dos characters it takes some time to set it up. The ability to save the previous set is a nice idea. On the illegal characters under preferences there is an option to save the custom character list, but it does not show in the dropdown once it's created.
