First off, I paid the $99.00 for this software because I wanted a tried-and-true solution to backing up my DVD collection. Yes, $99.00 is a LOT for single-purpose software but I figured it looked professional and actually burned the 'trial dvd' without error.
So, how has it faired?
This software has created a total of 3 DVDs out of the 30 or so that I've tried to run through it. Yes, yes ... that brings the cost of each of those copies to $33 and some change.
The program crashes. Plain and simple, I got duped on this purchase. I contacted their so-called 'tech support' and have received no reply. Nothing ... nada ... zilch. Perhaps their tech support is running the same way their software does?
In any case, if anyone from Velan actually reads this (which I doubt, as they're probably laughing while counting our hard-earned money), FIX YOUR PRODUCT and HIRE/FIRE YOUR TECH SUPPORT DEPARTMENT.
The program just quits, as others have mentioned, after it has read a disc. Sometimes it makes it through the compression stage before -- you guessed it -- crashing. More times than not, it's not even supposed to be compressing the DVD so perhaps this 'compression' stage is just some more wasted time.
I would request my money back but it's probably already been shuttled off into the brownie fund or something.
All joking aside, this program does not work. Plain and simple. Two thumbs way, way down.

Fast DVD Copy
I've burned 5 flawless copies since I've updated to the newest version. Whatever they did to remedy these problems, I'm grateful.
Most of the issues resolved in this version center around the compression stage ... which is where the program kept crashing.
In short, I'm finally feeling as though I didn't get completely ripped off, although customer support could be a great deal better than it is now.
I'll give an update if I receive any more crashes or errors.
