I'm glad I tried the demo before buying from the App Store. It definitely shows promise but the program runs like molasses, to the point where it's pretty much unusable for me. If they can fix the speed issues, I'll definitely take another look.
I downloaded the demo from your site. Dragged the unarchived file to the Applications folder. Launched the app. Took quite a long time to launch. When it finally took me to a screen to type, the cursor took a while to a appear. After I began typing it would be several seconds before any characters would appear. I tried downloading the app again and then running it but got the same results.
I downloaded and tried it again and this time took a screen recording to demonstrate what I'm talking about: http://img22.imageshack.us/img22/6308/ws1.mp4
This is on a 2.26 GHz MacBook with 2 GB of RAM. The only other program running was my web browser.
But let me clear on something. I'm not trying to trash this program. Just relaying my experience with it. As I said, I think it has great potential, and the price can't be beat.

First launch and subsequent launches are all very slow. I downloaded the Demo from your website, I haven't yet purchased the App Store version because of my experience with the Demo. Perhaps there's an issue with the Demo?
Yes, I have 10.6.6. Nothing else running on my Mac that would cause that kind of slow-down. Just my browser and Movie Draft SE. I've also run it without Firefox and had the same results.
Easy and works like a champ. I was using Tegan prior to this and I like the additional options provided by VidConvert. Reggie writes good apps and provides great support for his products. Happy to buy this one!
I like this. Simple and easy. I converted several .flv files without any issues. I agree that it would be nice if the developer could state in the description what formats are supported.
The only third-party syncing solution that was able to successfully sync my iTunes library to my Motorola Droid. doubleTwist would always sync two copies of each song and I gave up on it. The first time I tried Salling it had a hiccup and failed to sync, but ran I it again and it worked fine.
* Fixed installer issue on OS 10.4 (Tiger) and OS 10.5 (Leopard), where it would give a false message about the existing software being newer than the update.
* Fixed a potential, minor memory leak on OS 10.6 (only).
This has been updated to version 6.0.6.143 which fixes some annoying permissions issues with Snow Leopard. Official change log is as follows:
Changes in 6.0.6
* Permissions changed on installer to support Snow Leopard.
* Extension of Movie Magic Scheduling Export file (".SEX") changed to be lower case (.sex) because EP programs couldn't account for uppercase extensions.
Glad to see this program finally listed on here. My favorite of all the screenwriting programs available for OS X. My only complaint with the current version is that I can't add words in all caps to the custom dictionary. Right-clicking to add to the custom dictionary does not remove the spellcheck underline and will remain marked when revisiting the document. The only solution I could find is to spell the word in lowercase and then add it. Other than that minor issue this program is solid. Would like to see a GUI refresh in the next version. Current version still looks too much like a port of the Windows version.
The speed of importing .txt files is much improved over previous versions, but does not retain formatting as nearly as well as Movie Magic Screenwriter 6. When importing a .txt file using the Screenwriter 6 template, extra lines are interspersed, ACTION text in ALL CAPS and SCENE HEADERS without INT./EXT. are converted to CHARACTER CUES, Centered text is moved to the left, ACTION lines between dialogue are formatted as dialogue. Using the Screenplay template for this same importing reduced the page count of a 116 page script to 97 pages. Action between dialogue was included in the above character cue's dialogue.
Importing .rtf yielded similar results. At this point it would be faster for me to retype a script from scratch than to import it from a text file into Montage.
Another thing:
Why does Montage treat FADE IN: as a scene header?
Another thing I'd like to add. When writing a script, the default action of making a Character come after dialogue and then having to hit CMD-2 to go to action is a bit tedious. I like that I can edit the dialogue template so that hitting enter takes me to action and I can quickly hit tab to create a new character. Instead of assigning the tab key to Parentheticals after Character, I would suggest hitting Enter to go to Action, tab to new Character and simply typing ( to initiate the Parenthetical. Movie Magic Screenwriter 6 and Sopholces (for Windows - now defunct) did this and I believe it is much more intuitive.

I installed this and then selected the option for it to startup when I log into my computer. I later restarted my computer to find that two stacks had been added to my dock (Documents and Downloads) Time Machine was also placed in my dock as well. I had previously not had those on there. I removed them, removed Check Off and all was fine. I then reinstalled Check Off only to have the same thing happen again.
With this beta Windows XP Pro SP3 does not recognize my USB smart card reader. I tried downgrading the VM and running it in 1.1.2 again but that didn't fix it. A fresh install of XP in this beta didn't fix it either. It worked fine before upgrading to the beta. My fault that I didn't backup my VM before upgrading to the beta. Reinstalling XP now in 1.1.2 to see if it works again. I've submitted a bug report to the devs to look into this.

Is there a reason why Check Off is causing this?
