It says that 1.2.1 is the "correct solution for sidebar issues". Well, I'm using 1.2.1 under Lion but have exactly the same problem, which is that the sidebar does not appear when I open a Finder window. This to me is such a serious problem and has caused me such frustration and wasted so much of my time (looking for a solution and trying newer versions of Totalfinder) that I would actually PAY what the app costs never to have seen it. NEVER do I want a finder window without the full sidebar. But with Totalfinder when I open a Finder window, the sidebar is not there, and when I fiddle with it (right-clicking on the x button to get options), I end up with a sidebar that only shows part of the sidebar I specify as wanting in Preferences. It seems incredible to me that a Finder enhancer should not give you the option of having what every normal Finder window has and must have: the full sidebar!
The licensing system is a major catastrophe. I clicked on the link provided and got a page with a long license code that I could do nothing with, because there is no place in the app to copy-paste it. After spending an entire hour trying to find a way (including consulting the developer's website and looking for discussions on the web), I wrote to the developer but never got a response. I bought it as part of a MacPromo offer on Nov 29 and still am unable to use it as a licensed user. The app itself seems very useful and it was for this app that I purchased the bundle, but if I had known about the licensing problem, I would certainly have avoided having anything to do with this app. Whatever its benefits, they are not worth an hour of exasperation.
The developer, Rob, unfortunately did not get my message but was very helpful once he became aware of the problem through my comments here. He sent a license that worked without difficulty as well as explanations regarding other unrelated problems I was having with my Mac. My original problem was that I did not know I had to RIGHT CLICK on the link provided to download and save the license: I LEFT clicked and got a page of code I couldn't do anything with. I now recommend Time Sink without reservation.

I downloaded the demo but it didn't work on my new iMac with OS 10.5.2
I also hate it when I am buy something and am then given a download link. Often it doesn't work and then there is nothing to do but try to get a better link; I've wasted a lot of time doing this with a couple of programs.
I doubt very much if I'll buy this product. It doesn't bode well when the demo is not only extremely limited (10 items) but doesn't work.
Since installing it, EACH TIME I wake up my iMac (OS10.6.4) I am asked to grant permission for access to my keychain. It doesn't matter than I have clicked many times on ALWAYS ALLOW, the request invariably appears. This is a HUGE pain in the neck that far outweighs any potential benefit I can get out of the application (I was just trying it to see if it is useful to me). Is it a bug, or what? In any case, the only thing I could do was to deinstall it, after much exasperation.
