This program is so helpful, especially if you use latex. The ability to communicate between a latex source document and its PDF, auto-reloading of modified files and the annotation features are all excellent. I can't face working without Skim!
The best software companion to the new macbook pros. Now it can force manual switching to Intel built-in graphics! This is a killer feature.
Given MacOS's proclivity to flick to the nvidia chip when any program wants to access core image (this is often for me), gfxCardStatus actually lets you choose battery life over performance.
While Acquisition works, in that it's an attractive and functional gnutella/bittorent client, it pains me to see the software totally crippled and reduced to nagware, in it's unregistered form. Version 130.4 introduces novel measures to entice (force) people to pay, which basically renders Acquisition useless until money is passed over. It's saddening to see this happen. If the developer alienates his market like this, I don't really see why we should pay for it. If he were to relax and allow the obvious merits of software to sell itself, I'd feel much happier paying. For the while though, I can't be bothered putting up with this, freer alternatives exist.
[Version 130.4]
