This browser is FAST!!!!!!! Open the same webpage in iCab and in Safari, Firefox, Opera, Camino, etc, and click on each Refresh button in quick succession. Watch which gets there first. This browser leaves the competition standing, including Safari 4 and all the gimmicks and pointless changes this version introduced (like tabs at the top -- why?). How can iCab be improved? Yes, clean up those icons. They do look fuzzy and cheap. But mainly, change the awful iCab dock icon to something clean and circular like the Safari or Opera icons, only yellow instead of blue or red. And do change the name of the browser to something sensible and recognizable. The taxi/cab metaphor simply does not suggest a browser. Then we'll help spread the word! And keep up the good work!
Tables is a brilliant app. Fast, reliable, nice to look at, with clever features like showing calculation links across cells in color, etc. I looked and looked for a food spreadsheet (Mesa doesn't work, NeoOffice is very slow, Numbers is weird, Mariner is ugly). I missed Tables because the description on MacUpdate isn't very good and it's not immediately clear it's a spreadsheet. One request to the developer: please add a few icons at the top. There's plenty of room! I miss an icon for copy/paste style, move decimal point right/left, insert/delete column/row. Also, I can't find any way to box or underline cells. Other than that, this is very good. I'm still on the 30-day trial deal but I'll definitely buy this app!
Works fine for me in Singapore. Two things, though, both to do with the log of calls I made. 1) Numbers get truncated to the last 5 digits. Could the entire number including country code be shown? 2) Allow for local time to be shown. Converting from Pacific Time requires major mental computation if you live anywhere else. Other than that, brilliant. People in Asia, especially younger ones, don't use email any more except for boring stuff like work and studies, and they can text so fast it's hard to keep up. This allows me to pretend to be young again and seriously into texting, just like them. :-)
Great application! But for Mac users like myself who never got to like the palette idea but prefer menus from icons at the top, it suffers from the same conceptual problem that requires users to go off to the palette on the right or worse have it floating over the document and then go through one more step (select the right palette, then the right function). With NeoOffice style menus, this application would be my word processor of choice. Without it, I'll stick to super bloated, super slow NeoOffice, and wait, and wait, and wait...
A great piece of software. Very simple, very easy to learn and use, lots of clever add-ons like automatically emailing the recording you just made to any email address or uploading it to a website. Attractive design too. A great example of good software design.
The driver works fine with my 3-year old Creative Labs N10225 / PD1130 camera. Thanks for this! Color and resolution are more than good enough for my needs (recording lectures for college students). It doesn't make me look like a movie star, but I'm beginning to suspect the problem is me, not the technology. :-)
Bean is a very good word processor but I have one problem with it. I live in Asia so I use A4 page format, not US letter. The problem is that all Word documents I open in Bean get reformatted to US letter. Even when I change the format back to A4 through Page Setup and save that, the document opens in US format again. What am I missing? Or is this a bug in the software? Thanks if you can help.
