Upgrading from 10.3.9 to 10.4.8 on a MBP C2D and reading these comments I proceeded with trepidation. I'm glad to report that everything works as expected. I'm printing over the network from my new laptop to a 10.4.8 PPC Mini which has the actual USB connection. No problems, it works just like 10.3.9 PPC did.
