Had to delete it as the Sophos Intercheck process was regularly running at 100% CPU, slowing down my whole Mac. After deletion a startup freeze problem also went away.
Pity, as Sophos seemed quite good at purging malware attachments on emails.
Anyone thinking of buying this should be aware that post-1.0 updates will now only be available through the App Store - with no upgrade path for people who registered before the App Store release:
I've been using this for 5 years on various Macs and various mice. Updates have all been free and I don't recall having any problems with it. Works fine with Lion and it recognizes all the buttons and sliders on my current Logitech mouse. For me it's an essential Mac utility.
I give it 5 stars just for making ImageShack so easy. I also use it for drag-and-drop FTP uploads, clearing stuff off my desktop, and for holding all those little utilities that I need fast access to but don't want cluttering up the Dock.
I was a fan of SABnzbd+ (and still am) but NZBVortex has won me over. Lovely interface; very stable; quits and restarts nicely when I need to restart my Mac; has fewer unraring problems than SABnzbd; and the ability to search an nzb indexing site from within the app is very useful.
Some features I miss from SABnzdb+: the ability to search the download queue; the ability to see at a glance how old the "waiting" items are without clicking on each one individually; the ability to move an item instantly to the second position in the queue (so that I can prioritize it in a long queue without disturbing the current download); and the more advanced scheduling options in SABnzbd.
Some features I'd like: the ability to add personal notes to waiting items or to rename them; the ability to filter by "waiting for download"; and maybe some more options for the nzb search engine (e.g. categories).
None of these are deal-breakers, though. Congratulations to the developer for creating a really useful and well-designed app.
You're right - I completely missed that little search box in the filter bar. Thanks!
I realise there are several neat ways to prioritize the queue, but the one I was hoping to find is something like "Right Click -> Make this nzb the next one that downloads after the current one is finished". That's easy in SABnzbd, even if the nzb is at the end of a queue that's several hundred long.
I'll take a look at the issue tracker. Thanks again.
A fast and full-featured NZB-based Usenet client. It's a different concept from other Usenet apps (it works in the background and you configure it through a browser interface) but once you get the hang of it, it makes perfect sense.
Note to developer: Thanks for making the latest build 10.4 compatible. (I got a bit worried when I found that the previous release was 10.5 only).
