Excellent software. Adds great features to the Magic Mouse and improves on others. I highly recommend it to anyone who owns a Magic Mouse. To the developer: thanks and keep up the great work !

Works great and it is free. I don't find the paid apps any better. I love that it can monitor when you move an app to trash and let you know what other files should be deleted and gives you the option of doing so. Keep up the great work!

Although I have been using iStat Menus and iStat Pro for a while and always load them on any Mac I use, I am always open to newer and better. This is unfortunately not the case with atMonitor. In fact it looks like it is 15 years old. I was very surprised by the poor UI design, the limited preference selection and the overall poor implementation.

I will largely compare this app to iStat Menus and iStat Pro as those are what I use. atMonitor combines the capability of having both iStat Menus and iStat Pro. I will address each aspect seperately.

Similar to iStat Menus it provides several monitors that can be displayed 100% of the time on the menu bar. Clicking (or hovering over) these displays provides additional information. Not surprisingly the values reported are virtually identical. There was a discrepancy with the CPU temperature but I suspect that it had to do with the update interval.

There is one major difference between the full monitor component and iStat Pro in that iStat Pro displays in your dashboard and atMonitor displays as a floating window on your desktop. The preference here will probably vary by individual. Personally, I prefer the dashboard implementation as it is easier to display/hide as required but I can also see other view points. One may want to view the monitors actively (especially process resource utilization) while working on something - say a program being developed and debugged. I did find that iStat Pro provides more features and a much cleaner UI.

Overall, I have to recommend that folks stay away from this software as it uses more resources than competing products (which are free) and has a limited feature set as compared to say using a combination of iStat Pro and iStat Menus. I am not sure how the author is going to entice people to pay for the "Pro" version when it is released. Even at free, I would still recommend everyone stay away. The only hope is that the developer makes significant improvements before this is released.
