this product is an indispensable tool for me as i can easily turn off 'errant' audiounits which constantly crash final cut pro during initialization. never was presented with a problem concerning this application; functions exactly as stated.
ipodrip no longer sees the content of my ipod, which is strange because i have been using it for a number of years now with no issues. i believed at first this was due to itunes 7, a rather unsavoury product ( but a necessary evil ), but now i feel it is a combination of both itunes and ipodrip; since senuti, el ipodo, ollie's ipod extractor, and three other ipod utilities see the contents of my ipod. but none of those products can recover my ipod properly or possess the feature set of ipodrip i have grown accustomed to.
i hope the developer can rectify the situation soon or at least reply to support emails.
i tend not to believe the reviews or comments presented here, as most are unintelligible and full of hot air, but i must admit, the official BT client, at least 4.27.2 IS complete rubbish, as another here stated. i suppose the BT developers do not actually use the macintosh BT client they upload for others to use, otherwise this programme would be perfect. free or not free, quit wasting our time by uploading applications that do not function as advertised. and you have the audacity to ask for donations! no way. as a programmer myself, i can 'fix' issues with open sourced products, thereby tayloring the application to suit my needs, however not everyone has this luxury ... BT client 4.4.1 seems to be the most stable i have used, so i keep using it; notwithstanding, i had to do some tweaking.
developer ... i would like to mention that there is an incosistency in your preferences ( perhaps a bug? ) that seems to show or hide what i think are the "Advanced Options" mentioned on your site. my previous post stated these options did not exist, and actually they DID not exist until about the 15th time i opened "AcidSearch Preferences". then, if by magic, a drop-down option called "Selected Channels" appeared as did radio buttons for "New Channel", "New Separator", et cetera. so thus, my previous complaint has been 'solved'; although i am unsure why it did not appear before. and still, the drop-down was titled "Selected Channels" and not "Advanced Options" as stated on your site. so i apologize if this is a bug you plan to fix for .7. very useful addition to safari and you have my support.
this programme is great potential and seems stable; nevertheless, the instructions on how to use acidsearch are erroneous, at least on my machine. firstly, the website shows an image of acidsearch in use which does not match what i see on my computer ( ex. the bottom of the menu says "Edit Search Channels", while on my machine is states "AcidSearch Preferences" ). to me this is a serious oversight. next, the so-called Advanced Options are nowhere to be found in the Preferences, as plainly stated on the website. this does not detract from the overall use of the programme, notwithstanding, i cannot find a way to add additional search engines. developer, please clean up your instructions so that they match what i see in front of me. i understand this is a free product, but i cannot donate to support you if these simple things are not rectified. i am curious if others are having this 'issue'. 4 out of 5 stars. version .62
