I really want to like Coda 2 as I have been exclusively using Coda 1.7.x for the last two years. Last night I downloaded a copy from the App Store and jumped in to see the new features.
I am now left feeling like someone kicked me in the gut. I guess I would say Coda 2 is heading in a different direction than my web development. No syntax support for Haml, Coffeescript.
Code folding doesn't work for these either types unless you manually select a block and fold. The preview feature doesn't work for a Rails based site.
So then, download the demo and take it for a spin, but make sure it fits your needs. If it does, you will probably love it, otherwise you may have outgrown it. I immediately purchased a copy of Chocolat (itself still in beta) and am planning on saying goodbye to Coda. I feel like I am losing a friend.
I just got through reinstalling Acrobat 8.x and experienced the joy of updating every patch in sequence, so I agree that Adobe Updaters are a massive hassle.
I also upgraded to CS 5.5 and Acrobat X. PDF Portfolio feature is still half baked and Acrobat javascript performance is abysmal. Adobe encourages users to learn about extra tools and features, but then does a poor job supporting those same tools when they do not work as advertised.
Acrobat X seems to be more stable than 9 or 8, so maybe it is going in the right direction...
After a few years of holding out I decided to make the jump from Office 2007 to Office 2011 for Mac. After getting over the loss of all my customized ribbon interfaces, I am now finding Excel 2011 is seriously broken and hobbled to the point of being useless. Pivot tables aren't formatting properly. Page breaks in data tables aren't begin honored. Can't even find name management option for named ranges. All kinds of visual and interface quirks. I bought this so I could stop using Parallels since I upgraded to Lion and didn't want to buy another version. With a few months of work I might be able to figure out how to get my worksheets from 2007 to work correctly in 2011. Talk about a few steps backwards.
If you use Office, especially Excel, this steaming pile of an attempt to make a decent version of Office for Mac will only make you angry.
