I'd been a happy Sophos user up until Lion. There's no question that the program's On-Access Scanner (a system process called Intercheck) slows Lion down, sometimes to a crawl, though there is a question as to whether the spontaneous and seemingly random launching of applications that I did not launch, may also have been caused by the Intercheck scanning those app's files and inadvertently launching the programs.
Another major problem with Sophos under Lion (10.7.1) is that the application's scanning of files hangs (or at least the progress bar and file counter does) when it encounter a file it considers corrupted or encrypted files. It makes it impossible to know what the program is doing or how long the scan will take to finish.
I'm testing Lion without Sophos and will report my results.
The seemingly random launching of applications is not, as I had originally thought, caused by Intercheck. It seems that it happens when creating a new Time Machine backup in combination with Spotlight's MDS process scanning various files. For whatever reason, it happens only with these applications: Skype; TextWrangler; and, NetNewsWire. I have not figured out why as yet.
Support is a major plus for any application and Awaken's developer has been very conscientiously working on fixing this issue. Once it's finally fixed and I can figure out how to update my original review, I will update my star rating for this app as well.
Well it's been a while and I've been using the latest version 5.0.3. It still does not work. I can not recommend this app and if you're looking for something that will wake you up in the morning, look elsewhere.
I've used many password utilities but there's no question that 1Password is the best. The app is easy to use, efficient and makes using multiple passwords a breeze -- something that security experts recommend.
Also the app's developer has stellar customer support. With a great app and amazing customer service and support, Agile gets high marks! I happily recommend 1Password to friends and colleagues every chance I get!
Just started using Quickbooks Pro 2007 and this barely-bug-fixed version is not that much improved from the 2005 version I was using. And, the Intuit's marketing department has jumped WAY ahead of the coders and basically lies about the program's (in)ability to do online banking as advertised. There is NO Web Connect (as in Quicken and the Windows version of Quickbooks) and most banks do not let you download the required *.qob files needed to import into Quickbooks Pro for Mac. The overseas tech support person I spoke to suggested this feature may be included in a future version. So why did I upgrade. Oh yeah, because Intuit said this version had features it does not have...
Also, iCal integration is a joke. The program just puts events in your Quickbooks calendar on the date and at the time you entered it. That means that putting a bill into your iCal calendar does not show up on the billing date, the due date or any other date or time that is at all useful. Intuit should be ashamed to have charged for this 'update.' If you want a feature-rich version, it buy the Windows version and run it in Parallels!
Another issue that Apple actually claimed is fixed in Safari 5.0.1 is a black bar that hides the text in emails generated by other applications, including iCal's "Event Accepted" emails.
That issue is not resolved for me, even after trashing Safari's preferences file.

An alarm program that only functions sometimes is an extremely HUGE problem and that is what Awaken has become.
If you're counting on it waking you up you should look for another program.
