Apple iOS

ak76 reviewed on 11 Nov 2011
desperately need some help here..!

just updated a 4S to iOD 5.01 .. or thought I did, the thing crashed doing the update (error 14) and I now I cannot restore my phone at all..I get a the "restore phone" process gets underway, software extracts, and the phone gets "verified", phone gets prepared to restore...i get a "restoring iphone software" and the bar gets to about 1/5 up the screen...and then fails in error 14.

I am running Windows 7 and have disabled all of my firewalls, AV kit, etc. and Checked USB ports. I have done hard reboot of phone to also no effect.

Please help, this total screwup has ruined my night, and might very ruin much more if I cannot get a working phone back very soon.

Please help!!
[Version 5.0.1]

i found the file, deleated it and did a fresh download...no joy. I also used a manually downloaded update but also no joy..still error 14.

this is basically a total disaster for me - should have listened and gone with android, Apple is just impossible.

right. after moronically repeating out of pure desperation the steps luther kindly provided the restore finally worked...after EIGHT ATTEMPTS OF DOING EXACTLY THE SAME THING, with no changes AT ALL to the process, I finally got my brainbox back with 5hours and a wasted evening. I think this is a disgraceful standard of service that Apple provides and I am strongly considering handing my phone back.
Luther thanks for your help. Apple go hang.
