HandBrake

I just moved from 20 years on a PC. I was using Handbrake on the PC for the last year (a bit slow on the uptake). I spent countless $$$ on programs that do a similar thing to Handbrake. But it wasn't until I found Handbrake that I was completely satisfied on the conversion. Sometimes the best things in life are FREE.

Anyway, I have installed 0.9.5 on my new iMac with Lion 10.7.2 and it works perfect. I encode my movies to Apple TV 2, and don't need to make any changes to the preset settings.

The one thing I was concerned about moving to the mac, was being able to continue backing up my dvd library. It turns out I didn't need to worry at all. It is even easier on the mac.

It will be interesting when I get to my BlueRay movies though.

I have just moved from 20 years on a PC. On the PC I was using Handbrake and Metax, and loved both programs.

I have installed Metax 2.4.6 on my new iMac with Lion 10.7.2, and it worked flawlessly, including adding the file straight to iTunes.

It would appear from previous comment Metax is no longer being developed on osx, but the latest version works just fine.
