I can't comment anymore on iPaint since its no longer for my platform at all. While you've gotten a very low rating so far, I also agree with Bimmer (sept for the Vanilla Draw part.) Don't stop Mac OS X does need paint. Even if Apple won't make there own version.

AOL Desktop

Holy crap, people, its a freakin' beta. "...released to an enthusiastic public for large-scale testing and bug discovery." - Wikipedia

The new software includes Safari's engine, just like the Windows version uses IE's engine, so it should be a smooth transition in terms of logging into all your sites from Safari. The new interface is as "native" as it gets. So I don't know why people are complaining.

With the new interface means finally upgraded software. Mail, AIM, and of course the browser have been totally revamped. I have a iBook G4, 15inch display, 1024x768, so things are a little big for me unlike the new Macs. AIM has a new interface, user info is a simple mouse hover away, and chatting has been revamped with a nice bigger window and tabs are default and its all ad-free. Mail is all native and almost looks like they copied off Apple's Mail. Its the ONLY application on the desktop software that has ads which is fine for me. Although it could use some work.

This is the biggest change to hit AOL in a long time and by far welcomed one. Ignore those who say it sucks, has spyware, ect. This is isn't version 9! AOL changed its focus a long while back and this software shows it. My only complaints to the beta is the browser buttons shouldn't be "shiny." It feels awkward when on Leopard and even on Tiger. Hands down. I suggest more research if they want to go all native on both Tiger & Leopard platforms.

A great simple player for something that hasn't even hit 1.0. The look & feel to it is very different from a normal player. Its a little confusing at first but once you get the hang of it its pretty dang cool. I would like to see a playlist window added in the future. Then it will really take off in my opinion.

So far my first impressions = awesome great start.

13.0!? This is just as crazy as Winzip. Just create an 12.x (or lower fall I care) update for Leopard instead of a new version altogether for a year that's not even here yet.

Or.. alpha. Why are so many people releasing alpha's these days? >_>

Don't answer that.

I only got as far as importing a movie into the library. You can't edit or test out they haft to offer. Plus the help tends to ask so much for so little on a demo that only lasts 10 minutes with only 10 lunches to spare.

It takes more then 10 minutes to edit a movie!

You might as well just buy it seeing as you can't do anything with the demo. Useless opon download. So.. I agree with everyone esle, iMovie is still a win compared to this.

Its horribly slow and tends to render my PowerPC Macs to halt at times. When on my MacBook, which sadly the HD died, it runs like a breeze. Not sure if this is still true for anyone else. I've tried it on both a 1GHz PPC Mac with 512 to 1.25GB of memory and still the same issue.

I don't get it.

This looks like a very nice program.

Only program is that it won't stop crashing when I try to start a movie.
