DropIn

Mmh, you could do it by yourself like I do it w/ eg. RSS menu and the newsfeed from your Dropbox folder … or you can shell out $2, which is not much and maybe worth it.

Media Pro

Yrm reviewed on 13 May 2011
Phase One is in a difficult position w/ the legacy of Microsofts Expression Media 2 (and their handling w/ iView MediaPro) … after one year of hiatus they presented more or less just a "re-painted" application w/ close to no new features, less performance and a not so well thought out new user interface and really bad first experiences for some of the users: the application refuses to launch properly and had to be "forced quit".

Hopefully just a bad start. We’ll see.

CoverSutra

Yrm reviewed on 07 Jan 2011
Breaking promises («Thanks for registering! CoverSutra has been registered and you have free upgrades until version 3.») is for me a dealbreaker. Paying for a minor update (v2.5 at the AppStore), even it’s not much, is a no-go after the first promise.

Other developers do the same (Pixelmator boys) but the wise ones (eg. MarsEdit, Acorn, DaisyDisk) support old and new customers: keeping at least the actual version updated outside the AppStore.

Sophiestication, it was a nice time w/ CoverSutra, but now it’s over and I move on to other solutions out there.

I knew that, but I as a old customer have to jump on the AppStore wagon to get to the version no. 2 sometime in the future -- and they tell me to do it better now, even they don’t tell me when P2 will see the light or what features will be there.

Besides the discussion of Pixelmator is here offtopic you just have to take a look at the comments, eg. this one, on the CoverSutra 2.5 announcement and the same at Pixelmator entry and for example this comment.

the price they charge for the non-us market is a rip-off: EUR 159.99 - which is something about USD 241,65 compared to the US/Canada price-tag of USD 129,99. converted to EUR 86,06. no. more. words.

Web Snapper
yrm commented on 13 Dec 2007
It's a 1-2-3 app. PDFs of your desired webpage: a blink w/ your eye and it's done. Btw.: the developers are very responsive too: I had to get an update from Red Snapper to Web Snapper: fired up one e-mail and story over: happy end.

Camera+
Yrm had trouble on 28 Jul 2010
Very nice app - besides the problem that the meta data (EXIF incl. GPS) and creation date don't get saved, at least w/ iOS4. The photos get the creation date when I save them to the camera roll and not when I took them.

It seems that this is not the only camera related app w/ that specific problem, but for instance Hipstamatic saves at least the correct creation date. So maybe the developers should take a look into the (maybe) changed iOS4 frameworks or at least tell their customers what happens.
