This soft has just made to gain hours of time by automating the fine-tuned conversion of a whole bunch of documents from Latex to Lyx.
I use it as a service everyday in many other softs, my customized cleaners are just at the tip of my mouse cursor. If you edit and clean text manually and repeatedly, you definitely need this soft.
I am grateful to the developer of this program. It has already caught some windows viruses in the mail boxes I have imported from Outlook Windows (they supposed to be "protected" by Avast during many years and by Panda AV for three years...). Unfortunately, in these cases it quarantines the whole mbox file. But, since these were very old mail archives, I have been able to delete them without any regret.
I only supervise with ClamXAV my mail folders and the Download folder used by Firefox, for a minimal protection from threats coming from the net. I must admit that I am not sure that would be enough when real attacks will appear on OSX...
I was needing Inkscape with the textext plugin. I have installed Fink but I was having building problems. I have then tested MacPorts 1.9.1 and launched sudo port install inkscape. After a long delay Inkscape has been built with all the dependencies (there are a lot of them) and Voilà ! It worked without a hitch. Inkscape gives some warnings during the launch but it seem to work and the launch is quick. I am using OSX 10.6.4. Now I can begin to explore other OS softwares.
Thanks to the MAcPorts team, very nice job!
