So I have only started to play around with this application. But my initial usage of the Finder has definitely been improved. The dual-pane and tabs are pretty great. What I really like about TotalFinder compared to PathFinder or Forklift is that it is implemented within the regular finder. Ergo, I am not running a truly separate application and when I close my finder windows, TotalFinder closes as much as it can (Finder never truly closes).
Also, I don't need crap like FTP and whatnot. If I am going to use FTP, I would much rather run a dedicated FTP client.
So this application does what it say it will do. But I feel as though if you already have such a basic understanding of permissions that you are able to navigate this app, you must have the technical skills to type chmod o+rwx.... I mean seriously, it means "change permissions, to owner add read write execute." Now how hard is that?
