WAN Check
WhoCares742 commented on 11 Oct 2006
Doesn't seem to know what version it is. After install it appears to phone home and says current version is 2.2 and newer 2.2.2 is available. But, the installed version actually is 2.2.2 according the file naming and file info.

For the paranoid, there should be an option to stop it from doing a version check. Interestingly, LittleSnitch didn't report any outgoing connections.

I'm not quite sure how the developer can justify charging $25 for essentially compiling a bunch of free scripts written by someone else (www.dougscripts.com). While I appreciate the time it takes to combine them into a single interface, I think the money should go to the person actually writing the scripts, and yes, I have donated money to Doug's scripts. The scripts work great in iTunes without having to open up a separate program (iTunify) every time you want to make a change. Some of the scripts I use most often are not even included in iTunify.

This is a "free preview." In other words once it is out of beta it will no longer be free. The price - "We don't know yet"

Looks like this has gone from freeware v1.1.1 to shareware v1.2.1 ($7).

Excellent piece of software. Allows me to use my new Zen MicroPhoto 8Gb with OS X (10.4.4). It is better than the crappy PC only software that came with the Zen. Some things aren't working fully yet (RTFM) but works fine as is. It is free but I sent him $25 to encourage further development.
