Sorry for all the comment entries here. MacUpdate was giving me fits telling me that something was "undefined" when I submitted those comments. I assumed that the comment didn't get posted. Clearly they did. :) And apparently, I can't delete them myself.
App has root level access!? I don't like applications that don't install correctly. The app should not have permissions set to "system". That is reserved for Apple and the Mac App Store.
(OK, MacUpdate seems to have issues of it's own. I told it to post a "troubleshooting" entry at first, but it wound up posting a review. This comment is correct and MU gave me the option to set the kind of comment. ... Weird)

I will change my Overall Rating when the application's install has been changed to not install the app as "system".
Carsten, it may be that the app is a beta, but installing it with "root" or "system" permissions scares folks like me who are very concerned about viruses and malicious programs.
I'm sorry if the comment came off strong, but as someone who has been bit by both a phone based phishing scam and someone who got a tweet from a Twitter friend I trusted who was recently hacked. I take these things very serious and worry very much about them.
I will keep the application in my Watch List here and check out future updates, but if I may make a string suggestion. Please update your applications install script to install the application with the correct permissions so that users like myself won't get freaked out when they see the permissions set to "system". Thanks.
Any chance you could add a menu item to export the current list of apps and prices to a CSV text file?
I would love to be able to put this data into a spreadsheet or database to have a searchable list of what apps I currently own. I own way more than can fit on my iPhone so that list is super important to me.
This is a great script, but there is one little problem. It messes up the sidebar size when getting the size of the window so that when I use the script to set the window size, the sidebar shrinks to something smaller than I like.
Is there anyway for the developer to modify the script to handle getting the sidebar size as well?
FLASH1296: If you find this code so bloated, why don't you put your brain where your mouth is and help the developer out? The code is Open-Source so you should be able to go into his source and clean it up for him.
Personally, I don't understand what the problem is. It's a 14K download. How is this a bloated application?
My only complaint is that the site that is being used for searching postal codes is not very accurate. It doesn't even have my city in it. Manchester, MO is not that small and it's been around for well over 100 years.
Thanks for the info on www.geonames.org! Turns out that someone has added Manchester in, I found it when I went there and did a search. I couldn't find any place to modify the postal code info for the search though.
Still, I fully understand using it for your program.
I still use the software and it works great for me.
I have also been able to use the prior version of this client. I have issues with it and Leopard where after running VPN Client, Leopard's security settings have changed and I don't know what all have changed.
It's rather annoying really so I just use the Windows version of the client and don't bother with the Mac version.
I haven't tried the Windows version with Parallels yet. I should, it would be interesting to know if that combo would work.

I would really love to use the app, but I just can't with incorrect permissions.

Otherwise a great app!

That feature will beat the crap out of using iTunes to "Print too a PDF file" the list of applications, then copy and paste the list to a text file.
Thanks a billion!

You Rock!
True to my word, I donated $10 to the application development cause. This program is easily worth $10, if not more. Thanks for creating it!
