I've been using skEdit as my primary editor for a few years now. It is by far the best HTML editor out there. The previous version was already pretty good, version 4 is amazing. I've been working professionally with the beta versions for a year. The developer worked very hard on it, was very responsive and just delivered the best editor out there. Stop looking for an editor, you found it.
Great app. There are some other apps that try to do this but none of them are so user friendly.
And the developer is very responsive. There was a problem with a beta version and he fixed the bug right away.
His blog is the perfect place to ask for features: all requests made by users in the article about the previous beta are actually in this release. The next day!
It's pretty nice. A few things.
- Why a circle? My screen isn't circular.
- It would be handy if the crosshairs were as high and wide as the magnifier itself and if they could stay in place when you release the mouse (optional). Good for pixelperfect designers.
- I'd like the ability to resize the zoom window (yes, a window).
This app rocks! Making sets of finder windows is just what I need. I move and copy things all the time.
The basics are very simple but there are some very nerdy looking preferences. This only means that it does way more than I want. and I think that's OK. Once I figure out what else it does I might be even happier.
There is one thin that is missing: you can hide all apps when you restore a set, but what's needed is that you bring the sets to the front.
I was looking for an app like this since MailTicker stopped functioning on my new mailserver.
There are some things that can be made better though.
First of all, the app should only make a sound when new mail arrives, not every time it checks for new mail! A beep every minute, or even every five minutes for no good reason is very annoying. It's so annoying I can't use this app right now.
This should be removed in the next version. Please?
And I have a few suggestions:
- I would love MyPopBarrier to have a menu-item which shows me how many new mails are waiting on the server.
- wouldn't it be possible to delete a message when you press backspace? Or maybe Command+Backspace. That feels more natural than changing the state of a message and then pressing a button, don't you think?
- Maybe growl-support for when a new message arrives?
But the thing that's most important is that you only hear the alert when a new message arrives.
Finally a program that does exactly what is needed and nothing more.
There's only one usability aspect: Dragging is not so easy for people with notebooks.
As soon as you start the app the cursor should start picking. When you click it should remeber that colour.
Camitools has more presets but it doesn't have the ability to add your own user agents (anymore?).
I'm not sure if these two prefpanes conflict with each other but I think UserAgent should be a part of Camitools.

On his site there is a new version (2.2.7) which only plays sound when new mail has arrived. And you can set the volume of sound.
