Trash It!

Unblocktheplanet reviewed on 18 Jun 2011
I have been asked by an OP to revise my star rating because TrashIt’s failings are not the appl’s fault but inherent in Mac OS X. And the developer did provide me a workaround.

First of all, I didn’t know anyone paid much attention to the stars. I don’t, I just read the content. Because I couldn’t use the appl, I tried to give it NO stars but MacUpdate wouldn’t let me.

I do think it’s a terrific service for the developer to offer TrashIt for free and even to respond to grouchy queries like mine.

But I can’t give it more stars because I can’t use it.

Trash It!

Unblocktheplanet reviewed on 28 May 2011
Perhaps all Mac newbies & business users set up their Mac with a password...just like PeeCees.

However, I know of almost no Mac users who use a password.

Trash It! can’t be used with no password on your Mac. I know of only one other appl with this requirement.

Google Book Downloader

Unblocktheplanet reviewed on 27 Jan 2010
Unlike the other reviewers who seem rather lukewarm toward Google Downloader, this reviewer think G-D is better than sliced bread, as satisfying as chocolate and right up there with sex!

As a book publisher, I am a Google Books partner. I like the fact that someday every book comprising humankind's knowledge will be instantly available to us.

These days, all of my research takes place online. I have become familiar with reading whole books onscreen but I don't always want to be dependent on an Internet connection. So I have several bookmarks folders full of Google books which G-D has now allowed me to download to my desktop.

Despite the comment of another reviewer, I certainly have never been able to download from Google Books using any browser.

This said, I hope Google won't cut me off!

Bravo, Google Download!!!
