Address Book Server

Tuxford reviewed on 03 Apr 2009
After more than a year of development, the developer seems to have overcome numerous limitations with current Apple iSync deployments, to give businesses like ours a great tool for sharing contacts among our staff. While not easy, we are grateful and supportive as this tool is essential to our business. Currently working together with Kerio sync and Plaxo online for offsite solution too.

Important to take care with initial deployment. Back up contacts and test. We limit syncs to On Demand, rather that On Changes. OS 10.4. If you need this, time to get on board. No need to wait further for an Apple solution.

Group Organizer X

Don't bother. They won't license this thing anymore. I used V3 for a decade, and these guys don't care about helping you. I have tried getting help and giving suggestions and reported bugs for years. Now they leave me out to lunch. I tried to upgrade. Can't even call them.

And the new SOHO product doesn't have the Recurring Events functionality I need. So I am stuck with the Classic version.

Won't buy from them again. Chronos will stay small.

Nice idea, but I wish there was an option just to check MacUpdate for a subset I define, like anything already installed on my Mac.

A-Dock

Tuxford reviewed on 28 Feb 2006
Essential interface upgrade lacks support from developer. One major flaw is the use of the "Shift key" to move the dock.

The Shift key is used by ASM as suppression key for special features: Single Application Mode, etc. Can't use A-Dock with this ASM feature since it A-Dock reserves the important Shift key for an unimportant function better served through the preferences. Who moves his dock often to justify the use of the shift key for this function???

If he would fix this, we could turn on Single Ap mode in ASM, and have the ability to automatically hide others when switching using A-Dock, with a simple override: Don't hide others when clicking in A-Dock with the shift key depressed. Fabulous.

I have asked the developer to fix this for nine months. He just doesn't get it. I give him low marks.
