I absolutely agree with GRYPHONENT and highly recommend this fabulous piece of software.
The developer constantly improves his application with useful and well thought features. His support is outstanding (take a look at his support forum http://getsatisfaction.com/hardcodedsoftware) and you can also track the development of the software, if you are interested (take a look at his development site http://hg.hardcoded.net/moneyguru).
He is already working on version 2 but that isn't a reason to hesitated of buying this software because "all licenses for Hardcoded Software applications come with lifetime free updates" (quote from the website of Hardcoded Software).
This is a quite interesting plugin and it integrates well with Mail.app. However, I agree with DRROBERT that the search, while very fast, is extremely imprecise. It seems to me that Rocketbox does not index local stored emails correctly at the moment. I will keep an eye on this, certainly.
A wonderful application is getting better and better. SC is a fantastic spell checker and offers a lot more functions than just spell checking (Shorthands, Ghostwriter...). It is a great time-saver for all writers, especially if you need to write in different languages. The developer is very responsive with long-time experience with spell checking software.
Still my favourite to file emails. For me it is nearly a solution of striking simplicity. Thanks to the developer for keeping this little nice app up-to-date (you may find a OS 10.6.1 compatible version on his website).
Yes, I noticed that too. It is very sad and even more disappointing because there was no advance warning at all (at least I haven't noticed one).
PTHPasteboard was one of my favourite apps. However, I can't understand how the developer treats his customers anymore - to cut off the website and to vanish into thin air... what should I say...
Ok, I would like to edit my original post because the website seems to be back. Thanks for that to the developer. Now you can find a blinking notice that PTHPasteboard does not work under Snow Leopard.
Will we see an update of PTHPasteboard for Snow Leopard?
Espionage does what it promises to do in a very efficient and unobtrusive way; as Jo said, it works flawlessly and is out of your way if you don't need it. It works swiftly and the notifications through Growl keeps you updated what happens. The possibility to associate applications to folders is very helpful and minimises the effort for the user using encrypted data.
As Jo I had a small issue too and mailed the developers using their support website. I can confirm Jo's experience: I got a very polite, prompt and, more important, a efficent and elaborate reply. Greg, one of the Tao Effect guys, has send me a script which fixed my problem immediately. Btw, it wasn't Espionage which caused the problem; a maintenance tool had changed some permissions, and Greg figured that out from the log file I had sent with my first email; he fixed the problem by return.
- support of MailTags (windows interfere at the moment)
- support of SpamSieve (and other spam filters) to sort out spam/junk messages (index seems to include them at the moment; at least if you don't use the build-in spam filter)
- option to exclude emails in the trash (and maybe from other specific folders)
It seems the Sente team forces the development of Sente more than the Bookends team for Bookends at the moment. The new features of Sent 5.4.1 are interesting... Will Bookends catch up?
Jan, I do not have to justify my post because it is obvious that my post was related to Bookends v. 10.2 and Sente 5.4.1. The latter has introduced "Links view" and other features which were not available in Bookends at this time. Simply check the version histories of both apps and put the facts together before accusing someone. I never have vilified Jon's great app; I only encourage competition.
You have even missed the fact that I posted in the Sente forum for the first time one month after I had made my comment here on MU. Actually, the simply reason is that I own and use both apps, and I bought Bookends first. But I have settled with Sente for the moment because the UI makes it in my view easier to use than Bookends. I got use of it. Of course, this depends of the users preferences.
I agree that Jon's support is great but in my experience the Sente team does not need to balk a comparison.
In the last months the development of both apps has speeded up; and this is good for the user as LEV has pointed out in his Sente review on MU. Take another example: As far as I can see, Papers introduced the ability what Bookends implemented now with 10.3.1 (July 25, 2008) and called "Web page reference metadata detectors" first (last improvement in Papers v. 1.8 of April 16, 2008); Sente implemented this with v.5.6 (June 16, 2008)--of course, there are differences in details and that makes it an interesting competition.
The approach of Papers is very interesting and the implementation of different online sources seems to be smoothly.
The scope, however, is science focused and I could not see a easy way to integrate social science online sources, in particular law journal etc. online sources. I have noticed the "plug-in" option but I haven't either the ability nor the time to do so.
It would be interesting to learn if Papers will be developed for social science in the near/middle future. If so, I would buy the software immediately only to support this project.

Saft
I have reported this problem to the developer months ago but I never got any response.

Would like to donate to support the development!
Few suggestions:
- support of MailTags (windows interfere at the moment)
- support of SpamSieve (and other spam filters) to sort out spam/junk messages (index seems to include them at the moment; at least if you don't use the build-in spam filter)
- option to exclude emails in the trash (and maybe from other specific folders)
- maybe support of letterbox/wide mail
However, it is a really helpful plug-in already!
