Works great in many QuickTime enabled applications. Previously, it was easier to use a Windows box for manipulating Windows Media but this makes life much less complicated since I can utilize my Mac programs and workflow.
Hope to see increased performance and better integration (i.e. file type and icon) in future components.
Only came across this today. Brings back lots of memories from those pre-OS X days. FinderPop was the only thing that came close to the old Highware PopupFolders control panel (click and hold on any volume/folder allowed quick navigation; also pre-dated and worked better/faster than springloaded folders) which I recall stopped working under OS 8. FinderPop came on the scene not too long after and became one of those natural add-ons.
piPop and Fruitmenu sort of replicated this in OS X but none really came close to FinderPop. Good to see Turly and his utility back!
This review is actually for the latest "stable" version 4.2 on 10.4.3
The word stable is pretty much an oxymoron as it is anything but that. The program constantly throws up a Critical Error: Traceback (most recent call last) which results in stalling any active torrent.
The only way to clear this is to quit and restart the program. Quitting the application usually throws up a
"An unexpected error has occurred"
(error: (9, 'Bad file descriptor')) error message.
As some others have mentioned, this mainline version keeps getting worse and worse (especially on OS X) but then again, I guess we get what we pay for.
[Version 4.3.5]
