Just installed GlimmerBlocker 1.2 (PM G5 Dual 1.8Ghz, 10.5.6, 5Gb ram). While it appears to do an admirable job filtering obnoxious ads, EVERYTHING loads much slower. It almost reminds me of when I use to use DirecWay satellite access... except a worse lag.
Any ideas, or is this normal because of the proxification of everything to block the ads?
Downloaded and used for a couple of days as functional Demo. Worked very well.
I decided it was a much needed app, so I coughed up the $39.95 and received my registration info quite quickly.
After entering my registration info, I now have lost the ability to sync my contacts, and my calendar. I can't think of any more important plugins to work than these two.
Don't be surprised if you see this error:
SyncClient error. Can't register sync client.
I used the technical support submission form on the Mark/Space web site. When they say 24-48 hours, they mean it - it took nearly two days for a response that just mirrored the generic suggestions on their tech support page (reset iSync's sync history). That had not worked the several times I had already tried it (and had indicated in my support request).
I did find that Mark/Space "conveniently" has Premium Support where you can schedule and PAY FOR a support phone call.
I will be more than happy to update this review if/when my situation is resolved.
Found the solution, with no help from Mark/Space. Found an old post via Google of a person with the same problem/error. His solution was to remove an apostrophe from his device name and make sure the full device name is shorter than 14 characters.
Seems like a pretty good app. The description claims that it supports m4a (under OS 10.4), but I cannot get it to open such files. These are NOT iTunes purchased, but ripped from my own CD's.
Word works pretty well, although I could live without the additional eye candy which takes up valuable screen real estate.
The new Entourage looks good, and the basic function seems to be a bit improved over the 2004 version - BUT likes to crash on a fairly regular basis.
By my count, Microsoft error reporting has sent reports for Entourage crashes 25-30 times in the two weeks I have been using this new version. Sometimes the crash happens as soon as the app. finishes loading, at other times, it may be after reading my 2nd or 3rd email.
About 70% of the time - no crash at all, and it functions as it should. I have yet to identify a pattern to the crashes, as they all seem random.
The last few generations of the Logitech software have progressively grown worse. If it were not for me using a Logitech Elite Keyboard and MX Laser mouse, I would obviously not use it. In fact, I don't really have it for the purpose of the mouse driver.
But that being said - I have to completely uninstall the Logitech sofware about every 2 to 3 months as the same exact issue creeps up. It begins with MS Entourage - windows rapidly scroll to the bottom as soon as the mouse arrow moves over a window. Then the problem quickly spreads to other applications - but it ALWAYS starts with Entourage.
I have been in contact with MS - and they blame Logitech.
No utilities help, and the ONLY solution is to completely remove all files associated with the Logitech Control Center and re-install.
Then it all works as it is suppose to for a month or two, then it starts up again.
I keep my system up-to-date, and repair permissions on a regular basis. Logitech support is absolutely worthless. I have sent them every bit of info they have asked for and have yet to return any helpful suggestions, other than the suggestion to reinstall the software (duh).
If I can find a new mouse and keyboard by other than Logitech, I will buy it. I am sick of this unresolved issue (a year now).
And I didn't mention the fact that many application crash reports contain references to LCCDaemon....
MTR 2.6.6 chrashing/not functioning. Have reinstalled the app after deleting every trace of the software, and still crashes or just simply never functions.
The app use to function well, but hasn't since OSX 10.4.5 (or was it the QT update?).
Anyway, I hope the new v3 is worked out soon. Sounds like it has promise, but still has lots of major problems (according to the developer's web site).

Not the most elegant, or eye-candy filled app. But nice program. No problems for me thus far.

Is this a bug that exists after you pay, or is this simply a quirk of the demo?

I have been getting this message for the last several hours.
