For peace of mind ClamXav is a must have. Runs in background with no problems on Lion. Easy to set up watched folders and virus definitions are updated daily. Scanning engine is also being continually improved by Dev. Just get it.

Sparrow was great until Lion Mail came along. Now can't justify spending $10 when Lion Mail has all the same features + more.
Still a great email client if you're inclined.
