Coming from Tomato torrent, which I like for its simplicity, I had problems with UDP only trackers, so I gave Vuze a try.
Wow, what a piece of bloat this is! It felt like dropping right back into the Windows era I happily left years ago.
Since when do we need a full blown installer for a simple bittorrent client?
Maybe for shoving in a drive by install of a toolbar in Safari, including usage feedback without asking me????
I wonder what other crap got installed as well...
(The toolbar can be uninstalled by going to /Applications/toolbar/vuze and double-clicking the uninstall script.)
Feels like realnetworks back in the day.
Interface wise, well, what can I say. I took me quite a few clicks before I found out how to start the download of the torrent that was already on my desktop...
The search function didn't find the torrent I was looking for, and generally returned results that I can find better with google.
I'll keep it around in case I stumble over a UDP only tracker, but otherwise I'll stick to tomato torrent...
