Adobe Flash Player
Suf commented on 23 Dec 2009
Flash is the Real Player of the 2000's. You can't use the web without it, yet you can't use it with it. It consumes a large chunk of your computers resources unnecessarily and crashes so often it's beyond a joke.

During WWDC '09. Apple made a point that the number one cause of crashes in Safari were caused by web plug-ins, i.e. Flash. It wouldn't be surprising to find all browsers have the same stats.

Rant over, like I say, this is mandatory for the web user, but might I recommend ClickToFlash. It allows you to select which Flash components are allowed to load on any given page, and on YouTube, allows you to access H.264 Quicktime versions instead.

Until HTML5 gets widely implemented, we have to make do with this substandard plug-in.

Just a note, this product does not and doesn't seem likely to be supported on Snow Leopard. May I suggest Glims as a direct replacement with broader features and no affiliate links. :)

Fantastic app. The single problem I have is that Growl notifications only appear if you manually click on a track in iTunes or when iTunes automatically changes. If you use the Apple keyboard media keys to skip a song, Growl notifications do not appear on a track change.

When this is fixed, it would be a solid piece of software. The memory leaks look to have been cleared up and it's 64 bit. Great interface and invisible until needed, as any good app should be.

Absolutely fantastic piece of software. The Garmin Software that comes with forerunner watches pales in comparison. This is easy to use and gives great insight to workouts.

As an aside, there seems to be a few little bugs to work out but the developer seems to be working non-stop as of late. Keep it up lad, your efforts are appreciated.
